AI Cortex

AI Cortex is a personal automatic wiki. It gathers your activity and note changes in the current workspace and organizes them into what you’re doing now, projects, open loops, decisions and a daily log. It updates at a set time every day, and you can also run it yourself whenever you need.

  1. Switch to the workspace you want to use, then open AI Cortex in the navigation rail.
  2. The first time, you see An automatic wiki only you can see with its settings. Turn on Organize my activity and notes daily to update the wiki.
  3. Check the organize time and time zone, then select Save. The default is 03:00, Asia/Seoul every day. Select Change to set a different Run time and Time zone (an IANA name, e.g. Asia/Seoul).

The first time you turn it on, four default documents are created (Now, Project index, Open loops, Decision log), and collection starts from the last 7 days. Each workspace keeps its own settings and documents, so to use AI Cortex in several workspaces, turn it on in each one.

After it’s on, use the gear at the top of the screen (Auto-organize settings) to change the time or turn auto-organize off. Turning it off only stops the next scheduled runs. Your existing AI Cortex documents and the last collection point are kept, and organizing picks up where it left off when you turn it back on.

AI Cortex organizes the following records for the current workspace:

  • Your activity: activity logged from AI tools, Slack, GitHub and so on that is linked to the current workspace
  • Notes you created and changes you made yourself: creating and editing notes, and moving notes to the trash, restoring them or permanently deleting them
  • Your private records: since only you can see AI Cortex, private activity can be used too.

It doesn’t collect other people’s personal drafts or changes made only by others. However, a note change captured when you edited a co-authored note can include content others wrote.

The AI Cortex screen splits your records into five tabs.

Tab What’s organized there
Now Current focus, priorities, active projects and risks
Projects The project index and each project’s progress
Open loops To-dos and follow-ups that aren’t done yet
Decisions Decisions you made and the reasons, in time order
Daily Activity and note changes organized by date

Below each document’s title you see the current version, last update time, reason for the change and number of sources, in the form v{number} · updated {time} · {reason} · {n} sources. Select an internal link in a document to go to the related AI Cortex document. Links to documents you can’t open right now are marked Currently unavailable.

If the first run hasn’t finished yet, you see Waiting for the first auto-organize run. You can also start right away with "Organize now".

Select Organize now at the top of the screen to process new records without waiting for the next scheduled run. The status next to it shows how things are going.

Status Meaning
Queued / Organizing… A run is scheduled or in progress.
Last organized {time} When the last run succeeded.
Organize failed · {reason} The last run failed.

Failure reasons appear as follows:

  • Monthly usage limit exceeded: the current workspace has used up its monthly AI credits.
  • AI provider not configured, AI response error, Internal error: try again in a little while. A failed run doesn’t change your existing documents or the collection point, so the next run processes those records again.
  • No workspace membership, Disabled: check your access to that workspace and your auto-organize settings.

When a run actually changes a document’s content, a new version is created. If the content is the same, no unnecessary version is created.

The Start screen shows a recent digest for each workspace where AI Cortex is on, along with today’s activity count. Select an item to switch to that workspace and open AI Cortex.

If the last record is two or more days old, or the latest run failed, an n days old, Quota exceeded or Organize failed chip appears. For details, see Start screen.

Select Version history on a document to open its list of earlier versions. Choose a version to see its contents and a comparison with the current version (Compared with current v{n}). Selecting Restore to v{n} contents doesn’t overwrite earlier records: it creates a new version based on the contents you chose.

If auto-organize changes the document while you’re comparing, you see Auto-organize just updated this document. Refresh and try again. Check the latest version again, then restore or create an edit proposal.

Select AI edit on a document, describe what to change and how, and select Create proposal. The AI drafts a revision. It never overwrites the document directly.

  1. In the AI edit proposal panel, compare the instruction, change reason, and changes (current version → proposal).
  2. Select Apply to add the proposal as a new document version.
  3. Select Reject if you don’t need it.
  • Documents with pending proposals show This document has n pending AI proposals. with a Review button.
  • Each proposal shows where it came from: My instruction, Forget follow-up or Agent.
  • If the document changes after a proposal is created, the old proposal can’t be applied. Get a new proposal based on the latest document.
  • The project index document is managed by the server, so it can’t be AI-edited or restored.

Revisions created by the agent land in the same proposal list, and you always review and apply them yourself.

Use Forget to remove source records that AI Cortex should no longer keep. This can’t be undone.

  1. Select the {n} sources link below the document title. The Forget sources window opens and lists the sources this version cites.
  2. Select Forget next to a source, then confirm with Really forget.
  3. The original sources you chose are permanently deleted right away and excluded from future collection.
  4. Removal proposals are created to take that content out of existing documents. The content disappears from the current documents and search only after you review those proposals and select Apply.

If you forget the originals but don’t apply the removal proposals, the organized sentences can remain in existing document versions. Check every affected document before you go ahead. Past document versions are immutable records that preserve their state at the time.

In the agent’s search scope, you can choose:

  • Web: uses web search only.
  • Tasks: uses only your AI Cortex in the current workspace.
  • Web + Tasks: uses the web together with your AI Cortex.

Answers in the Tasks context show the AI Cortex documents they used as source chips below the answer; select a chip to go to that document. Even if the agent decides your records need changing, it never applies the change itself — it only creates an edit proposal.

Chats that used AI Cortex may contain personal records, so they can’t be shared with the workspace. Conversely, a chat that’s already shared can use only the Web context. To use Tasks or Web + Tasks, AI Cortex must be on in the current workspace.

Select Create output at the top of the screen to turn your organized records into a draft note in one of these formats:

Template What it contains
Government research note An evidence-ready draft organizing work performed, results, and next steps in journal order
Internal report A team-sharing draft structured as summary, progress, decisions, and risks
Investor memo An investor update draft centered on highlights, progress, and milestones

Pick a template and select Create. The result is saved as a personal draft in the workspace, and you can open it right away with Open note. If you belong to more than one workspace where you’re not a guest, choose the workspace under Save to. Workspaces where you’re only a guest don’t appear in Save to.

Review the draft yourself before publishing it. Outputs don’t get an e-signature automatically, and if creation fails, no empty note is created.

Auto-organize, Organize now, edit proposals and output creation in AI Cortex all use the workspace’s AI credits. The server chooses their models automatically, independently of your agent chat model choice.

  • You can use it within the monthly AI-credit allowance. When the usage runs out, runs fail with Monthly usage limit exceeded, and you can run again after usage resets on the 1st of each month.
  • Plus and Business share workspace credits based on purchased seats. For the same seat count, Business includes more credits.

For details, see Plans and limits.

Guests can’t turn on or open AI Cortex, and can’t use the Tasks context or create outputs.
