Activity and My Mash
MashNote collects work records from AI tools, GitHub and Slack as activity. There are two feeds for viewing it.
| Feed | Where to open it | What it shows |
|---|---|---|
| Activity | Activity in the navigation rail | Team activity shared to the current workspace |
| My Mash | My Mash in the navigation rail | Everything you logged, regardless of workspace |
How activity comes in is covered in AI tool connection (MCP), GitHub and Slack.
Activity: the workspace team feed
Section titled “Activity: the workspace team feed”Activity is the current workspace’s team feed. It lists the following in time order, with who logged each item:
- Your own activity linked to this workspace
- Other members’ activity whose visibility is Workspace
- For owners and admins, activity whose visibility is Supervisor as well
Filter by source
Section titled “Filter by source”Use the filters above the feed to show one source. Only sources that actually have activity appear among All, Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, Antigravity, GitHub, Slack and Other, and the filters are hidden when there’s only one source. Other is activity logged from MCP apps not in that list.
Select My Mash at the top right to go to My Mash, where you manage the workspace links and visibility of your own activity.
My Mash: your account-level feed
Section titled “My Mash: your account-level feed”My Mash belongs to your account, not to a workspace. It gathers the activity you logged in every workspace you belong to, plus activity not linked to any workspace yet. Activity linked to a workspace shows that workspace.
- Select Connect assistant at the top right to open Personal settings → Integrations, where you connect AI tools, GitHub and Slack.
- The source filters work the same as in Activity.
- My Mash doesn’t appear for an account that is a guest in every workspace.
Link an item to a workspace
Section titled “Link an item to a workspace”Use each item’s workspace menu to choose where it goes:
- A workspace name: The item becomes that workspace’s activity and, depending on its visibility, also appears in the team feed.
- Just for me: The item isn’t linked to any workspace and appears only in My Mash.
Either way, the item stays in My Mash; only the workspace it’s shown in changes. You can’t link activity to a workspace where you’re a guest.
GitHub items get their workspace from repository settings, so they show only their origin workspace and can’t be moved individually or selected in bulk. See GitHub integration.
Visibility
Section titled “Visibility”Use each item’s visibility menu to set who can see it.
| Visibility | Who can see it? |
|---|---|
| Private | Only you. The app also shows No one can see this, not even admins. |
| Supervisor | You and the owners and admins of the workspace the item is linked to. |
| Workspace | Every member of the workspace the item is linked to. |
Visibility matters when an item is linked to a workspace. Items set to Just for me appear only in your My Mash, whatever their visibility.
Organize many activities at once
Section titled “Organize many activities at once”Select Select at the top right of My Mash to change the workspace and visibility of several items at once.
- If needed, select the Unassigned filter to show only items not yet linked to a workspace.
- Check the items to organize, or use Select all. To clear your choice, select Clear selection.
- In Assign workspace, pick a target workspace or Just for me.
- If needed, pick Private, Supervisor or Workspace in Change visibility.
- When you’re done, select Done selecting.
If some items can’t be changed, the app shows how many changed and how many were excluded, for example Linked 3 items, excluded 1 item. GitHub items are excluded from bulk selection.
If you keep making the same choice, select Skip picking every time · set a default connection in the selection bar to set the default rules below.
Visibility & workspace links
Section titled “Visibility & workspace links”Set default rules per source in the Visibility & workspace links panel at the top of My Mash. The panel is collapsed; select its title to expand it. Only sources with activity or a saved rule get a row (Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Codex, Cursor, Antigravity, GitHub (my repositories), Other).
| Setting | Options | When it applies |
|---|---|---|
| Link | Just for me (default) or a workspace | Activity an AI tool logs without naming a workspace, and commits from your personal GitHub repositories (My repositories) |
| Visibility | Default ({label}), Private, Supervisor, Workspace | New activity from this source |
- The default Visibility is Workspace for GitHub and Private for every other source.
- Rules apply only to activity that comes in after you save them. Change existing items with their own menus or in bulk.
- Slack isn’t in this panel. Activity logged from Slack comes in as Private, and you can change visibility on each item.
Activity from AI tools and integrations
Section titled “Activity from AI tools and integrations”Where activity is first recorded depends on how it comes in:
- AI tools (MCP): If the auto-logging prompt names a workspace, the activity is recorded there. Otherwise it follows that source’s Link rule, and with no rule it’s recorded Just for me. See AI tool connection (MCP).
- GitHub repositories linked to a workspace: Recorded in the workspace the repository is linked to.
- Personal GitHub repositories (My repositories): Only commits you authored are recorded, following the Link rule of GitHub (my repositories). With no rule, they’re recorded only in My Mash.
- Slack: Recorded in the MashNote workspace connected to the Slack workspace.
Whichever way it comes in, a new item’s visibility is set by that source’s Visibility rule (or the default), and all your activity also appears in My Mash.
Sharing, access-change and mention notifications are separate from the activity feeds; see Inbox.
