Ending the session and the report

When the host ends a session, AI combines what happened on the board, the transcript of any recordings and the handwriting on the board into one report.

Only the host (the person who opened the session) can end a session.

  1. If you’re recording, click Stop first and wait for the upload to finish. If you try to end the session while recording or while a recording is uploading, you’ll see Stop the recording first.
  2. Click End & report.
  3. Confirm End the session and generate the report?

When the session ends:

  • The host’s browser saves an image of the whole board as it stands. That image is used to read handwriting, and it’s included later if you save the report as a note.
  • The board can no longer be changed.
  • Every connected participant is moved to the report-processing screen, which shows Building the report. Transcription and fusion can take a few minutes.

If ending fails, you’ll see Could not end the session.

On the processing screen, the app waits for the recordings to finish transcribing. Then AI writes the report from three sources:

  • What happened on the board: who drew or wrote what, and when
  • The transcript: who said what, and when
  • Handwriting and drawings that AI reads from the image of the board at the end of the session

The screen checks progress automatically and switches to the review screen when the report is ready. If it can’t check, it shows Could not check status — retrying… and keeps trying. You can also leave this screen and reopen the session later from Recent sessions on the whiteboard.

AI writes the report in Markdown, in this order:

Section Contents
Title A short title summarizing the session. It’s also used as the title of the review screen and of the saved note.
Unifying theme The shared theme that emerged across participants
Development The mathematical development, with math written in LaTeX
Timeline Who drew or wrote and said what, in order, and how speech and writing informed each other
Open questions Unresolved questions and disagreements
  • If a diagram was drawn on the board, the report may include Mermaid diagram code.
  • Speech is attributed with the same speaker labels as the transcript, such as 화자 1 (“Speaker 1”) or 화자 미상 (“unknown speaker”). See Recording.
  • In a very long session, the report may not fully cover the later part of the session.
  • Building the report, including reading the handwriting, counts toward the workspace’s AI usage.
  • On the Free plan, the report is built with a lighter AI model than on paid plans, and it counts toward the monthly AI allowance. If a Free workspace has used up this month’s AI allowance, the report may fail.

See Plans for how the plans differ.

If the report can’t be built, the session’s status becomes Failed and the screen shows the reason. These reasons are shown in Korean even when the app is in English:

Message Meaning
보고서를 생성하지 못했습니다. (“The report could not be generated.”) Something went wrong while AI was building the report.
세션에 기록된 내용이 없습니다. (“Nothing was recorded in this session.”) Nothing was drawn on the board and no speech was transcribed.

If no reason is available, you’ll see Could not build the report.

  • The host sees Regenerate report. Clicking it returns to the processing screen and starts building the report again.
  • Other participants see the reason without the button. When the host starts regenerating, their screens follow automatically.
  • If the request can’t be made, you’ll see Could not request the report again. or The report could not be queued again. Please try again shortly. Wait a moment and click again.
  • A session that failed with 세션에 기록된 내용이 없습니다. (“Nothing was recorded in this session.”) gets the same result if regenerated, because there is nothing to report on.
  • If the report failed because a Free workspace used up its monthly AI allowance, regenerate it after the allowance refills or after upgrading.
