Navigation tour

The MashNote app is split into a narrow navigation rail on the left and your work area on the right. You switch screens from the rail, and open workspace switching and settings from the account menu at the bottom of the rail.

After you sign in, the Agent screen opens first. To open the Start screen, select Start in the rail or the logo at the top of the rail.

Right after you accept a workspace invitation, the Notes screen opens.

Hover over an icon in the rail to see the screen’s name. From top to bottom, the rail contains the following.

The MashNote logo at the top of the rail takes you to the Start screen. Accounts that are a guest in every workspace have no Start screen, so the logo takes them to Notes instead.

Below the logo, the items are split into two groups by a divider.

  • Above the divider — account-level screens: Start, My Mash, Inbox. These show content from all of your workspaces, whichever workspace is selected.
  • Below the divider — workspace-level screens: Notes through Whiteboard. These show content from the workspace you’ve selected.

Select the avatar at the bottom of the rail to open the Account menu. If you signed in with Google, it shows your Google profile picture; otherwise it shows a generic person icon. From top to bottom, the menu contains:

  1. Name and email: the account you’re signed in with.
  2. Workspace list: every workspace you belong to. The current workspace has a check mark, and workspaces you joined as a guest have a Guest chip.
  3. Add workspace: enter a Workspace name and select Create to make a new workspace.
  4. Settings: opens Personal settings.
  5. Help Center: opens this help site in a new tab.
  6. Log out

Select a workspace in the list to switch to it right away. You stay on the screen you were viewing.

  • Notes, Agent, AI Cortex, Activity, Ideas and Whiteboard change to show the selected workspace.
  • Start, My Mash and Inbox are account-level screens, so they stay the same whichever workspace you pick.

Settings open as a window over your current screen, not as a separate page.

Window How to open it Tabs
Personal settings Account menu → Settings General, Account, Integrations, Signature
Workspace settings Account menu → the gear on a workspace’s row ({name} settings) General, Members, Billing, Integrations
  • The gear always shows on the current workspace’s row, and appears on other rows when you hover over them. Selecting the gear switches to that workspace and then opens its settings.
  • Rows for workspaces you joined as a guest have no gear.
  • The bottom of Personal settings has links to the Terms of Service and the Privacy Policy.

For what each tab contains, see Settings. For the Billing tab, see Plans and limits.

Once you’re signed in, a round Help & feedback button floats at the bottom-right of every screen. On the Agent screen it sits a little higher so it doesn’t overlap the message box.

  1. Select the button to open the Send feedback window. The Help Center link at the top of the window also opens this site.
  2. Type your comment or the problem you ran into, then select Send.
  3. When Feedback sent. Thank you! appears, your message has been sent.

Your account details and the address of the screen you were on are sent along with your message.

Use this button for requests the app can’t handle itself, such as a forgotten password or deleting your account.

If you delete every workspace you belong to, the Create a workspace screen appears. Enter a Workspace name and select Create to start again with a new workspace.
